Today you can hear my conversation with David Yow about his new solo LP, Tonight You Look Like a Spider. David is an amazing man who used to sing in bands like Scratch Acid, the Jesus Lizard, and Qui among others. These are some of the best things I’ve ever seen and a lot of that has to do with David. His new solo album is strange and bizarre. We talked about it and lots and lots of other stuff too (is that the Jesus Lizard’s “Mistletoe” in an Amex commercial???) and you can hear a new song at the end of our talk.

Ah, the Sunday evening podcast launch. Social media suicide! It’ll be worth it though. On this episode, I head down to the Speed River in Guelph to speak to Tragically Hip superfan, Joshua Kloke, who is celebrating the release of his memoir about the band, Escape is At Hand, with a book launch at the Supermarket in Toronto on Monday July 24. One of my favourite bands ever is the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and they’ve got a few Canadian tour dates coming up soon (including Sled Island this week and Ontario shows next month). I called up Jon Spencer for a chat about what things have been like since the band started playing together again and the ebb and flow of independent culture. After a nice talk about our kids and Levon Helm, we got into it.
